In 2007, the members of the American Institute of Architects will mark the AIA's 150 years of service to the profession and the nation by working with their communities to create a better future by design.
The California Council of the American Institute of Architects (AIACC) is made up of 21 separate geographic sections, known as chapters. Many of the local chapters have scheduled local events to celebrate this historic celebration with the local public and media.
The American Institute of Architects theme for the sesquicentennial celebration is "Celebrating the Past, Designing the Future." A timeline of the 150-year history in fifty-year blocks can be viewed here.
The sesquicentennial celebration is fluid and dynamic, so check back often to learn about news relating to the celebration and specific events in your area and abroad.
