Partnership for Prosperity: Identifying the Best Civic Amenities for the Future of the Sacramento Region

 

This project proposal focuses on supporting the collaboration between AIA Central Valley ("AIACV"), Valley Vision, and other partner organizations, local citizens and community leaders to plan for and create a unified funding strategy for civic infrastructure in the six-county Sacramento Region ("Region"). These civic improvements-spanning entertainment, arts, sports, science, recreation and cultural attractions-will center on creating vibrant downtowns, enhancing quality of life, providing new economic opportunities and building the Region's international reputation. The method proposed is to inventory all existing and in the pipeline amenities from 27 jurisdictions in the region that are largely unaware of each others facilities. This region wide snapshot of what we have today will be used to gather input on priorities for new projects. From there funding mechanisms will be researched and partners will collaborate on a solution that best fits the region.
