Ciy of Riverside: AIAIC Green Partnership for a Sustainable Riverside

AIA Inland and the California City Task Force Team engaged the City of Riverside in a "Green" partnership with the City's Clean & Green Task Force to establish sustainable environmental solutions for the city. Highlights of the City of Riverside's Mayor Ron Loveridge's "Call to Action" are as follows:

Keep it Clean - Beautification and waste reduction, public and private organization taking active roles in litter prevention, waste reduction, and beautification.

Making it solar - Renewable and efficient energy focusing on saving water and using it wisely along with aggressive pursuit of solar power to augment energy usage and finding ways to maintain water quality.

Make it Shady - Trees and landscaping, strategically planting large canopy of trees over the city.

Clean the Air - City participating by moving its fleet of vehicles to alternative energy running systems

Save Fuel - Exploring feasible ways to encourage use of public transportation along with alternative ways of transport such as bicycling and walking.

This "Call to Action" was delivered at the Mayor's State of the City/Sustainable symposium.
