San Francisco Celebrates Architecture Week

 

In celebration of Architecture Week AIA San Francisco has schedule several events. Click here to view and to participate in a survey to pick your favorite building in America.

 

In addition, the San Francisco Chronicle published "Gems of the city: A list of San Francisco's top 25" structures in the April 17, 2007 eidition, in honor of Architecture Week. Gems of the city: A list of S.F.'s top 25, by John King, San Francisco Chronicle.

 

The AIACC developed and produced public service announcements to promote the upcoming AIA San Francisco Chapter, and Center for Architecture + Design’s fourth annual “Architecture and the City Festival”, taking place September 1-30, 2007.  This event celebrates San Francisco’s unique built environment and design community.  Architecture and the City is the first series of its kind in the Bay Area to feature architectural tours, film screenings, exhibitions, design lectures, green building tips and more. The month-long celebration engages members of the public and design enthusiasts, as well as architects and designers, with a deeper appreciation for San Francisco’s rich architectural and design community. In honor of the annual festival, Mayor Gavin Newsom has officially proclaimed September "Architecture and the City" month.
