Chapter Project(s)

Conducting workshops that address the increasing growth in population throughout San Joaquin County area.

On April 10-15, 2007, the chapter presented a Valley Architecture Exhibit at the Fashion Fair Mall in Fresno, CA, where projects were displayed.

On September 29th, 2007, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) San Joaquin Chapter is celebrating AIA’s 150th year of existence at the 15th annual Sandcastle Competition.  With the theme of “AIA 150”, teams of architects, designers and students will compete for the best depiction of significant works created during the past 150 years of American architecture.  Each team will be given approximately 10 tons of sand to work with.  All of the sand must be used to qualify.  There will also be a giant sand box complete with shovels and pails for children of all ages to try their hand in building a ‘monument’ of their own.  The public is invited to this free ‘architectural community event’ to vote for their favorite sandcastle with their “Peoples Choice Award”!
