The rehabilitation of R.M. Schindler’s Bubeshko Apartments probes their history, engaging Schindler’s formative theories and their material realization without
freezing the work at the time of its conception. As in all of Schindler’s work, the notion of “color plasticity” is integral to shaping these environments; a muted, translucent palette using reformulated, environmentally sound materials was central to the project’s success.
