California members Haley Gipe, Associate AIA and Stuart Magruder, AIA, are recipients of National AIA awards for their contributions to the architectural profession as emerging professionals.
Haley was honored with the AIA Associates Award – the highest award given to individual associate AIA members who best exemplify the highest qualities of leadership and have demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to their component or region’s membership, in the community, in professional organizations, and/or in the design and construction industries. Haley has served as the California IDP State Coordinator for the past three years and has guided thousands of interns in their quest to obtain their architectural license by leading IDP and Licensure workshops throughout the state. Haley’s expertise and insights to the IDP and licensure process has proven to be most valuable to the California AIA members, interns and students. Read more about Haley’s award
Stuart was honored with The Young Architects Award which celebrates emerging designers that have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession in an early stage of their architectural careers. Stuart, a member of the AIACC Board of Directors, is an active participant in the advocacy efforts in California. Architecture is one of the most stringently regulated professions in the state and without involvement in the political and regulatory arenas, public policy will be dictated by others who are not educated, trained, and tested in designing the fragile interface between the natural and built environment. On behalf of the more than 11,000 AIA members in California, congratulations to both Haley and Stuart for this tremendous recognition.
