2012 RESIDENTIAL MERIT AWARD

Richardson Apartments, San Francisco, CA
Architect: David Baker + Associates

In the heart of San Francisco, this mixed-use SRO building provides 120 permanent, supportive studio apartments for very-low-income formerly homeless residents. The five-story sustainable infill development draws material inspiration from its surroundings and remediates the site of a collapsed freeway with green homes, street improvements, client services, and neighborhood-serving retail.
