The California Debt and Investment Advisory Committee (CDIAC) provides training in public financing. AIACC members took part in a survey of Property Owners/Builders/Developers/Engineers/Architects and related professionals regarding issues about Community Facilities Districts (CFD) and Assessment District (AD) Financing in November 2012.

The state of uncertainty that now surrounds special assessment districts in California has led to a decline in the use of this tool to pay for public maintenance and capital improvement projects. This seminar considers the implications of the court’s actions, how practicing assessment engineers and other public finance professionals have responded, and the opportunities to use assessment districts in the future.

As a part of their efforts to educate the industry, the CDIAC, in collaboration with the University of California, is holding upcoming events in Northern and Southern California that will hold interest for some of our members:

Linda Derivi

A UC Berkeley graduate, she is President of the multi-discipline design firm Derivi Construction & Architecture, Inc., which she co-founded in 1979, based in Stockton, CA. She holds licenses as a contractor and as an architect, as well as being a certified interior designer. Recently appointed AIACC Director of Design & Practice, she brings with her not only a broad knowledge of practice issues, but also a great deal of energy and dedication to her work.
