New Regulations to New Hire Pamphlet

Risk Strategies Company, Professional Practices Group, wanted to make sure all were aware of changes ahead:

California recently enacted new regulations (effective July 1, 2014) which modify some of the contents of the New Hire Pamphlet. Below please find the revised 2014 California New Hire form (which includes the Notice of Predesgination and Notice of Personal Chiropractor or Acupuncturist forms).

Overview of the main changes:

  1. Identifying the insurance company, plan or fund providing the employee with health coverage for non-occupational injuries or illnesses* (see below) in the Notice of Predesignation of Personal Physician form, and *One of several prerequisites for predesignating a personal physician, the employee must have health care coverage for non-occupational injuries or illnesses prior to the industrial injury, which meets the requirements under Rule §9780.1(a)(2), as revised in the Predesignation of Personal Physicians and Reporting Duties of the Primary Treating Physician regulations, and LC §4616.7(b),(c), and (d).
  2. Proving notice to the injured worker of the limitation to 24 chiropractic visits in the Notice of Personal Chiropractor Or Acupuncturist form.
