School districts, community colleges, and architects statewide are utilizing DSA’s new electronic backcheck process for enhanced efficiency, an expedited review process, and improved environmental sustainability.

Backcheck appointments are typically the final step in the DSA plan approval process, when project architects meet with DSA plan reviewers to review any corrections to the final set of plans.

Watch a video about a recent electronic backcheck in DSA’s Sacramento office and learn more about the process by reading DSA’s Procedure PR 16-01. For questions or to schedule your appointment, contact your DSA lead plan reviewer.

One of DSA’s key goals for 2016 is to expand the use of electronic backcheck as a first step toward fully electronic plan review. Do you have feedback to share about your participation in an electronic backcheck appointment? Are you hesitant to try the new process? We want to know. Please send your thoughts and suggestions to DSACommunication@dgs.ca.gov.
