Announcing New Awards Competition for Residential Design

Celebrating California architects and projects, the AIACC Residential Design Awards recognizes the best in residential architecture and design in the state of California. The competition will highlight residential projects constructed in California, and architects and firms who shape the landscape of architecture and design throughout the state and beyond.

Entry is open to both members and nonmembers with projects in California, or, California architects who have completed work elsewhere. Eligible projects include those completed after January 1, 2007. The following types of residential dwellings are eligible for entry: Affordable Housing Units, Condominiums, Mobile Residences, Single Family Residences, and Multi-Family Residences. The deadline for registration is September 5 and entry submission is due September 19.

Sponsored by The Architect’s Newspaper, all 2012 Residential Design Awards winners will be announced on November 2, 2012 at AIA San Francisco, 130 Sutter Street, Suite 600, San Francisco. Winners will be announced at a reception at 6:00 p.m., following the AIACC’s “Now Next Future” Conference.

The premier jury includes esteemed architects and designers from throughout California and Seattle. The 2012 jurors include: Mary Johnston, FAIA, Johnston Architects; Tom Kundig, FAIA, Olson Kundig Architects; Elizabeth Ranieri, FAIA, Kuth/Ranieri Architects; and Anni Tilt, AIA, Arkin Tilt Architects.
